Senate House hosts showstopping homage to capital at 嗨碰视频 Fashion Week AW24
Senate House was proud to strut its stuff at 嗨碰视频 Fashion Week as the influential global event returned to our historic venue to showcase a stunning winter wardrobe by fashion brand SRVC.
The fashion show followed the success of another breath-taking 嗨碰视频 Fashion Week highlight held in our marbled Crush Hall in February 2023.
Realising the brand鈥檚 vision
Our versatile spaces were an inspired backdrop for sumptuous Autumn Winter 2024 collection, 鈥淗UMAN RESOURCE鈥.
Senate House's 210-foot Portland Stone facade towered over a succession of futuristic, structured silhouettes and vibrant accessories inspired by 嗨碰视频ers and the metropolis.
Built in the 1930s by famed 嗨碰视频 Underground architect Charles Holden, our building is an impressive Art Deco statement on the skyline and its rich wartime history and heritage helped shape the city.
Deckline: Our Grade II listed venue was the perfect backdrop for an event of this magnitude.
Three of 嗨碰视频鈥檚 ubiquitous red double-decker buses were transformed into a runway in a further nod to the capital.
Event organiser Sophie Kanny says SRVC was drawn to our retro-futuristic aesthetic which she compared to the architecture of Batman鈥檚 fictional home city of Gotham.
Senate House in fact, perhaps unsurprisingly, has very close ties to the Batman franchise - as both the Batman Begins and Dark Knight Rises films used our spaces extensively for filming.
鈥淭he theme of our clients鈥 show was 鈥楻ush Hour鈥," explains Sophie. 鈥淭hey wanted something that would evoke big cities, rushing to get to your job, being in a hurry to get dressed, and they loved the fact that Senate House looked like Gotham City.
Senate House offered the vibe that they wanted and when they saw it, they loved it.
Staff arrived at 4pm the day before the fashion show to begin setting up, and the building was soon buzzing with excitement, before final preparations began early the following morning.
A runway was stretched up and down each bus' stairs, with all three vehicles parked in a horseshoe shape on the Senate House grounds.
Bus seats were transformed into a front row for 嗨碰视频's glitterati, with some 200 guests gathered to take in 厂搁痴颁鈥檚 beautiful designs, as models weaved in and out of the vehicles.
Sophie says she has enjoyed working with our hardworking events team.
鈥淲orking with 嗨碰视频 staff was really smooth. The reply I got was really fast and I haven鈥檛 had to wait to get a reply from anyone when I had questions. It鈥檚 been a dream so far,鈥 she reveals.
