Working with academics

The àËÅöÊÓƵ Careers Service works closely with academic colleagues to offer relevant careers and employability support to our distance and flexible learning students, whatever they may be studying, wherever they may be based and whatever their current level of careers experience.

Our highly experienced Careers Team recognise that our students are at different stages of their career journey; some are Career Starters, others are Career Developers, whilst some are Career Changers.

Our team use this Career Stage approach to tailor our live sessions and digital careers resources to make them relevant for all our students. Students can access live career webinars, many co-delivered by a member of our team and our students, and group career coaching sessions led by experienced Careers Consultants. Our central careers programme also includes a range of employer-led events, plus opportunities to connect with our global network of alumni.

Students on your academic programme also have access to a diverse range of online careers support, including digital platforms and AI tools to improve CV and interview skills, an international vacancy platform and career micromodules. Increasingly the àËÅöÊÓƵ Careers Service is working in partnership with academic programme staff to deliver bespoke careers sessions or digital resources to specific cohorts, often focused on core employability skills. We also offer support on how to incorporate more careers and employability content into academic modules, including in response to the Careers Registration data collected by each programme.
