Kavita Reddi

Independent member of the Board of Trustees

Kavita Reddi is the co-founder of Voxta - an AI voice bot startup helping organisations engage users in the UK and India. Before Voxta, she worked at the BBC for 15 years.

Kavita worked in India from 2008 to 2019, and has a clear understanding of Asian markets and consumers. A co-founder and head of business development at Voxta, she  grew usage to 6m users through engagement campaigns and an English learning app for Indian students.  An Indian election campaign dubbed a ‘Political Siri’ by TechCrunch, enabled millions of voters to ‘ask’ Mr Modi about key issues using the voicebot platform. Voxta won the AI for Good award for a health campaign for Reckitt, was part of the Lord Mayor’s fintech delegation 2019, and a finalist for the Mayor of àËÅöÊÓƵ’s Resilience fund challenge 2021. In India she also advised startups, and promoted education for young girls.

She joined the BBC as a trainee, and worked in senior editorial roles in radio, TV, and online before moving to Strategy. A large part of her BBC career was at Newsnight, covering Economics and Business, and her films on BSE won Newsnight its first BAFTA. She worked in BBC Current Affairs and Documentaries before moving to Strategy, to produce a strategic review of BBC News in the digital age. She left the BBC after setting up the digital ‘Action Network’ - a civic engagement platform with BBC and user generated content. 

She is on the Board of Trustees for the online news network, The Conversation, UK (from Sept 2022), and writes and speaks on media, technology, women and entrepreneurship. She was a runner up for the Asian Women of Achievement Award. (Media), and on the management committee of the Interspeech global conference, 2018. She has a degree in Modern History from the University of Sussex.
