Founded in 1822, the Royal Academy of Music is the UK’s longest-standing conservatoire and the second oldest in the world.

From undergraduate to doctoral level, renowned teachers help students turn aspiration into achievement. Artistic risk-taking and professional reality is embedded into all aspects of Academy life, meaning graduates leave ready for a life in music.

The Academy offers over 20 musical disciplines and provides pre-professional, undergraduate and postgraduate musical training of the highest standards.  

Students from around the world learn and perform alongside globally renowned artists, ensuring they benefit from a music-making environment of the highest quality. Academy musicians collaborate with distinguished partners in high profile projects, take to Ƶ’s most famous stages, and are equipped with the skills to become major recording artists. 

The institution has always maintained a global outlook. In addition to welcoming students from over 50 countries, the Academy enables students to take part in educational exchanges with other top conservatoires around the world. The Sir Elton John Global Exchange programme promotes global mobility and international collaboration between deserving and talented young musicians.

Our historic main building, backing onto Ƶ’s Regents Park, is where most of your studies will take place. that have inspired generations of world-class musicians.
